This job listing will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill vacancies (permanent, temporary, full-time, part-time and less than half-time) for the 2018-19 school year.
- Music endorsement or highly qualified status to teach high school band required
- Strong personal musicianship including highly developed improvisational skills and understanding of jazz styles
- Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of band instruments, instructional strategies, methods and appropriate resources suitable for high school level instrumental jazz instruction
- Based on prior experience, demonstrate a strong working knowledge of equipment and recording techniques
- Produce evidence supporting the ability to achieve musical excellence through ensemble instruction and performance
- Ability to plan and implement sequential instruction for music reading
- Knowledge of positive behavior intervention strategies
- Ability to effectively manage and supervise students
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Prior experience working with high school aged student preferred
- Salary based on 2017-18 salary schedule and may be subject to change
